Crimson Pact! Blood Death Knight Macros for WoW: The War Within

📖 Table of Contents

Macros

This article introduces a macro set for the Blood Death Knight. It is not restricted to any specific talent build and works with the most popular setups. These macros are suitable for both Mythic+ and Raid content. PvP has not been tested.

If Blizzard doesn't significantly change the Blood DK specialization, these macros should work well in patch 11.2. I will review and update them if necessary after future updates.

Rotation Macro

This macro executes a looped sequence of Death's Caress → Blood Boil → Heart Strike → Death Strike... It can repeat indefinitely until you stop pressing the button—very useful.

If you test on a dummy, you may experience resource shortages, but in real combat your resources tend to overflow because Heart Strike is used more frequently to maintain fluidity and consistency.

If you’re lazy or facing a non-threatening encounter, you don’t need to worry about it. However, in intense situations, consider holding a modifier key (alt/shift/ctrl) to cast Death Strike manually for healing.

Reaper's Mark Utility Macro

If you’re using the DEATHBRINGER talent build, this macro casts Reaper's Mark followed by Soul Reaper, great for burst damage setups.

A few seconds later, the Exterminate passive will trigger. You should then press shift to use Marrowrend for max damage. It's visually impressive.

Holding alt casts Death and Decay at your feet. This macro is important—it includes opener and damage combo setup. Practice it well.

Burst Macro (Offense + Defense)

This macro casts Vampiric Blood, Raise Dead, both trinkets, and Consumption. If pressed repeatedly, it will also cast Bonestorm and Tombstone.

Due to resource constraints, Bonestorm and Tombstone cannot be used back-to-back. The macro resets in 20 seconds. This gives you enough time to use Bonestorm first and then Tombstone as needed.

Burst Macro

Survivability Macro

This macro by default casts Anti-Magic Shell and Icebound Fortitude, two core defensive skills. Holding alt will cast Anti-Magic Zone on yourself. Holding shift casts Dancing Rune Weapon. Raise Dead is also included.

Survivability Macro

Lastly, I included Raise Dead in every macro. No matter which one you use, it will ensure your ghoul is active, maximizing uptime. If you prefer not to cast it in a particular macro, simply remove the line: /cast [nopet] Raise Dead.
