Many players enjoy the Frost DK Breath of Sindragosa build. Today I created a macro for this playstyle, updated for WoW 11.2, adopting the DEATHBRINGER build. Overall, this macro performs well and can help you deal higher burst damage in M+ combat. The Breath of Sindragosa burst window is extremely powerful, but outside of it the damage tends to weaken. You will need to find the best timing to cast Breath of Sindragosa in order to ensure your overall DPS ranks at the top.
Import String
Importing the string generates “FDK_ST”, “FDK_AOE”, and “FDK OPENER”.
Macro Sequences
“FDK_ST” and “FDK_AOE” correspond to single-target and AOE damage respectively. Single-target will use Obliterate and Frost Strike, while AOE will use Frostscythe and Glacial Advance. When you have no ghoul, these macros will automatically cast Raise Dead.
Strictly speaking, both of these macros are semi-automatic. They will not use Reaper's Mark, Breath of Sindragosa, Pillar of Frost, or both trinkets. However, Empower Rune Weapon will be used automatically, since the “BDK OPENER” also consumes one charge—both work in synergy.
Modifier Keys
- ctrl + hotkey: cast Raise Ally on a friendly target; otherwise cast Death Strike.
Character-Specific Opener
“BDK OPENER” is a character-specific macro that you can find with /m. Its principle is: if no ghoul is active, it will first cast Raise Dead, then on the target use
Empower Rune Weapon (resets if no keypress for 2s) + Reaper's Mark + Pillar of Frost + both trinkets. On the next press, it will cast
Breath of Sindragosa.
In other words, with just two presses this macro will unleash Breath of Sindragosa, after which you can immediately continue with GSE (ST/AOE).
Simulation
I ran a simulation (Raidbots). In the sim, the rotation sustained for 20 seconds. With the macro, I managed to sustain for 22 seconds. Performance was quite good—see reference image below:
Notes
This version of the macro has very few obstacles, and overall skill casting is smoother. You only need 1–2 practice sessions on a training dummy to get used to it. Once familiar with using “BDK OPENER” + GSE fast scrolling (mouse wheel), you’ll be good to go. Finally, enjoy the game!
