Overcharge! Devastation Evoker Macros for WoW: The War Within
Macros
This macro suite is for Devastation Evokers built specifically for Mythic+ with the SCALECOMMANDER Hero Talent specialization. The number of macros for Devastation is slightly higher than average due to empowered spells requiring individual handling to function optimally—I’ll explain why below. You can copy the talent code below to pair with these macros. If you switch to a Raid build, I can’t guarantee compatibility, as I haven’t used this spec in Raids.

Fire Breath Opener
Fire Breath and Eternity Surge are empowered abilities. These spells simply can’t be perfectly macroed. There’s no such thing as a macro that tells the game to cast exactly a 3-charge or 4-charge spell. What we *can* do is set it up to charge on the first click and release on the second—this macro does that. I’ve also bound Tip the Scales here to occasionally fire off a fully empowered Fire Breath instantly. Very convenient, and very satisfying.
Eternity Surge Opener
This macro is nearly identical to the Fire Breath one but omits Tip the Scales. Why? Because Eternity Surge doesn’t always benefit from full empowerment. In many situations—especially single target—you only want to fire off one charge. Tip the Scales would actually waste potential here.
Single Target Rotation
This is your go-to rotation macro for single target. It resets if you don’t click it for 5 seconds. If you hold a modifier key, it will cast Deep Breath at your cursor’s location. Tap the macro again to cancel the flight early—it’s a neat trick.
AOE Rotation
This macro is for your AOE damage and includes Pyre casts. It works just like the single target macro but with a few Pyres thrown in to really heat things up.
Here’s the real magic of Devastation: you open with your double empowered spells, triggering a Mass Disintegrate proc and weaving in supercharged Disintegrate casts. These rotation macros reduce cooldowns on those empower skills. So what’s the flow? Easy: Fire Breath + Eternity Surge → either ST or AOE macro → optionally weave in Deep Breath → when empowered cooldowns return, start again. Yes, it feels clunky at first. But once you’re in the zone? You’re nuking everything. Everything.
Burst Macro
This macro is built for pure DPS spikes. Dragonrage, your two trinkets, Tempered Potion, and Hover for mobility. Just press it and go boom. It’s perfect for Mythic+ trash packs or boss pull bursts.
Control Macro
This crowd control macro casts Landslide and Oppressing Roar at your cursor. Double tap for more duration. Helps a lot when packs start running wild.
Healing & Defense Macro
This macro does double duty. Need to heal? It’ll cast Verdant Embrace and Emerald Blossom on your mouseover target (or yourself if none). Holding a modifier instead triggers Obsidian Scales and Renewing Blaze—your essential survival tools. Neat, tidy, and compact.
