Silentblade! Assassination Rogue Macros for WoW: The War Within
Macros
This macro set is for Assassination Rogues using the DEATHSTALKER Hero Talent tree, designed specifically for Mythic+ content. Rogues are one of the most unpredictable specializations, and honestly, I haven’t found a macro setup that feels truly perfect. Why? Because to ensure macro flow, combo point generation may either fall short of five or overflow. It’s difficult to manage such a volatile spec with rigid macros. So, the only solution is to go with the most stable macro design possible.
The macros below have room for minor adjustments based on your character’s traits, and I’ll explain those options throughout.

Single Target Macro
If not in stealth or combat, it activates Stealth. Holding a modifier (alt/shift/ctrl) triggers Shiv. The castsequence uses a 3+1+1 pattern: 3x Envenom → 1x Crimson Tempest → 1x Rupture. since Mutilate drains energy faster in single-target fights, which can leave you energy-starved pretty quickly.
Yes—you read that right—we still use Crimson Tempest on single targets. The bottom line is macro fluidity. I’ve also added Ambush to the end of the macro. Technically it conflicts with the castsequence, but due to Blindside, you may randomly gain access to Ambush out of stealth, which can otherwise freeze your macro. Feel free to remove it if it causes issues.
AOE Macro
Same 3+1+1 structure, but with minimal Mutilate, resulting in a smooth execution. A 4+1+1 setup might be better in theory, but we’re close to the 255-character macro limit already.
Burst Opener Macro
This macro opens with Stealth + Shadowstep for gap closing, then lands critical hits with Deathmark. It pairs with your ST/AOE macros, and also triggers your first trinket and a potion. Due to character limit, only one trinket is included—make sure your active-use trinket is in the top slot.
The castsequence favors Rupture first, then Crimson Tempest. It also exploits double Subterfuge triggers for extra burst. Holding a modifier lets you fire off Vanish to start another round.
Rotation Tip: Start combat with this opener, then swap to the single-target or AOE macro based on your situation. Vanish can be used again for another burst round—or saved for emergencies.
Tricks of the Trade Macro
Classic Rogue macro—cast Tricks of the Trade on your friendly target, or if not friendly, on their target instead. Straightforward and effective.
Survival & Healing Macro
Combines Crimson Vial and Feint. The macro uses a 6-second reset to prevent you from accidentally spamming Feint. I love it, and I strongly recommend giving it a try!
