Iron Will! Brewmaster Monk Macros for WoW: The War Within

Macros

This article presents a comprehensive macro suite for the Brewmaster Monk specialization in World of Warcraft: The War Within. First off, kudos to Blizzard for designing a spec that makes lazy macros not only possible but highly effective. Thanks to excellent synergy between key abilities, a single button can handle complex rotations.

These macros support both Shado-Pan and Master of Harmony Hero Talent builds, though I strongly recommend Shado-Pan. Here's the talent code:

One-Button Brewmaster Rotation

This macro covers damage, AoE, and self-healing in a seamless rotation loop. It continues indefinitely until you stop pressing it. That said, gear quality affects performance. If your item level is below 640, you may experience a 2-second delay between Rising Sun Kick casts due to stat limitations.

Due to the 255-character macro limit, I did not include Chi Burst. Ideally, manually use Chi Burst between macro casts. Before starting a boss fight, open with Chi Burst, then engage this macro.

Brewmaster Utility Macro

I haven’t made too many macros for Brewmaster—this article covers the essentials. Long-cooldown abilities like Fortifying Brew don’t need macroing. This one focuses on high-frequency tools:

  • By default, it casts Celestial Brew for defense.
  • Hold Alt to use Dampen Harm for damage reduction. Best paired with burst macros.
  • Hold Shift to use Black Ox Brew to refill energy and reset cooldowns like Dampen Harm.

Control Macro

This macro handles crowd control. It casts Leg Sweep for AoE stun by default. If you mouseover an enemy, it uses Paralysis for single-target CC.

Burst Macro

This macro combines Weapons of Order with trinkets and a potion for maximum impact. I prefer Tempered Potion because boosting Brewmaster damage also increases defensive uptime.

Tip: Use Weapons of Order before pulling bosses—it reduces its own cooldown when you deal damage. Use it off cooldown in meaningful combat. Skip it if you’re just clearing weak trash mobs.
