Best Frost Mage Macros for WoW: The War Within – Burst, PvP & AoE Guide

This post presents a set of battle-focused Frost Mage macros for World of Warcraft. While the macros are generally suitable for all Frost builds, they are especially optimized for the Frostfire talent path, which is also a dominant PvP choice.

PvE Burst Opener Macro

This macro triggers both trinkets and Tempered Potion, then enters an AoE-heavy sequence after activating Icy Veins. It's tailored for pure damage output, showcasing what Frost Mages can do in AoE. During combat, be sure to aim your cursor at the target area.

Core Rotation Macro

This macro is intended for use between cooldowns to maintain a smooth rotation. It ensures that your spells don’t clash or delay each other, and it reliably casts Glacial Spike each cycle. Very useful for maintaining pressure.

Cone of Cold AoE Macro

This macro takes advantage of the popular PvP talent Coldest Snap. Use it when facing 3+ nearby enemies in melee range to trigger an extreme CD-reset burst chain. As always, remember to point your mouse at the target area for Blizzard casts.

PvP Damage Chain Macro

This macro is great for PvP and can also be used in single-target PvE scenarios. It opens with Flurry and follows a 5-second reset loop. I use it extensively in Battlegrounds and Arenas—it saves you a lot of keypresses so you can focus more on positioning and enemy movement.

PvP Burst Macro

This macro was originally part of the above damage chain macro using mod conditionals (alt/shift/ctrl) to activate cooldowns. However, due to the English client's 255-character limit, I split it out. Use this before your PvP chain when you're ready to secure a kill.
